Nice clean looking pair of JR149s

Should they both have the same serial number?
I thought the serial numbers were for individual items, not pairs.

No I don't think so. I was watching the original listing that finished last night without a bid - I think they got automatically relisted by ebay but the seller cancelled it (guessing the original listing was probably on a 99p fees deal). I expected them to get a bid at the last minute, but it never came. Perhaps an indication that the ceiling for jr149 is still sub-£500 even for a really neat looking pair.
