Hi !
I thought that may be I should assemble some Avondale amps instead of buying a Nac110 to "upgrade".
These could be ideal for my new Nac32.5 and Hicap with new reg and caps.
So I seriously am thinking about buying your modules, but before that, can you please tell me what transformer should I buy for it?
What psu ? I have two boards of Avondale MiniCaps. I could fit some Kemet or Mundorfs there...
Would such an amp be better than a well refurbished Nac 110 with the Avondale psu ?
The all thing is good, but will cost me about 800 euros, to much money now.
The boards would be shipped to France 77300 Fontainebleau.

Hi Francisco,

Ideally the transformer should be 350Va - 500Va with 2 x 35-0-35 secondaries, one secondary for each Minicap 6 and one Minicap frpr each amp module. You will need 12 No 5600uF or 6800uF 63v 63v 30mm diameter 10mm lead spacing caps for the minicap6 modules along with 8 diodes = On Semi MR852. All this is case chassis size dependant, it will not fit in a 110 shoe box case.

This/these would easily better a 110 and by a big margin.

I'm thinking about one Toroidy transfo. They are good and well isolated, or talema...
Isn't it better to have two transformers ? Two 300VA...
I am interested, have to see where I am in the diy financial dispositions, if you know what I mean, but will return to you very soon.
I know I have to make it fast, otherwise, they will be sold elsewhere.
I have a nice case, 4U, big one, dissipante.
