NAP110 servicing

Kirabosi Kognoscente

The parts to recap my newly acquired amplifier arrived today.

the small preamp psu cap is 26mm across and the bigger 10000u caps are 40mm across.

I managed to find suitable replacements and intend swapping out the tants too.

I would recommend you have a close look at the large resistors near the output transistors as well as they sometimes overheated and may need replacement as well.

Will need to get the components to do my NAP120. This will be after it is finished it's stand in role while the main system is at Witch Hat.

Best of the shoebox amps to my ears. Yours looks nicely original. If you have time it's worth putting insulation sleeves on the mains switch. Those exposed tags are just waiting for that moment when the screwdriver slips . Some of the boards tend to lift tracks unless you are very gentle with the soldering iron. When I'm replacing capacitors and resistors I usually cut them off the component side first so that I can deal with one leg at a time and avoid any levering.

Good advice, I’ll post pictures of the results if it’s warm enough to venture into the garage this weekend.
