Hi-Fi Critic reviews Naim Audio's new NDX 2 network player and optional 555 PS DR power supply -

https://www.naimaudio.com/sites/default/files/NDX 2 review.pdf

ANDREW EVERARD THINKS THAT THIS SECOND-GENERATION OF NAIM’S NDX NETWORK AUDIO PLAYER HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR GREATNESS

"it was interesting hear just how well the new player could bring out the scale and ambience of a recording, not to mention the detail it manages to unearth."

"The NDX 2 delighted, with real punch from the big drums and the rasp of the band; only adding the 555 PS DR showed that this player could give even more."

"And with the power supply bolted on? Wow! This gives a tighter focus on the duo, and yet the atmosphere around them is more apparent, spacious and – well, atmospheric."

"By any standards, it’s an excellent player, both in its flexibility and, most of all, its performance."

"The non augmented machine is also pretty special at its price point. Clarity, image depth precision and dynamics are a prime strength, while still greater resolution and improved timing may be had with those optional extra power supplies. An Audio Excellence rating seems appropriate for the NDX 2/555 PS DR combination."

Not everyone sees hi-fi as we do. For us, a smooth, stable, low-noise power supply isn’t just desirable: it’s fundamental to proper hi-fi performance. Nowhere is that belief more clearly exemplified than in our reference 555 PS DR, the best power supply in our portfolio. Whatever Naim Audio product it partners, the 555 PS DR will improve every aspect of your favourite music. Voices and instruments become clearer and more natural. Perceived dynamic range increases too, while timing – music’s fundamental sense of rhythm and accuracy – snaps into even greater focus.

Naim's story begins with one man’s passion for music and weaves its way through four decades and a raft of iconic product launches to the present day.

Naim Audio founder Julian Vereker MBE (1945-2000) was a racing car driver, entrepreneur and self-taught engineer with a deep passion for music. Spending his spare time listening to and recording his friends playing live in the 1960s, Julian found that playback on his system at home fell woefully short of the experience he craved.

Not content with second best he decided to design his own amplifiers and loudspeakers, ignoring accepted wisdom and focusing on aspects of performance that made music burst to life. These first designs laid the foundations for a range of iconic and award-winning hi-fi products that would reach well into the next century.

Naim NDX 2 Technology & Craft -

The Burr-Brown® PCM1792A digital-to-analogue converter working alongside our new streaming platform is one of the best available. We improved its performance even further by implementing our own digital filters and adding a discrete current to voltage converter immediately after the DAC.

The streaming section of the NDX 2 uses the latest Naim network card featuring low noise, high-speed low-voltage differential signalling (LVDS) to route the digital audio signal. The higher speed is capable of decoding all HD audio formats at up to 32 bits/384 kHz or DSD128. Rather than the source acting as the digital timing master, our new streaming board turns things around and allows our DAC clock to control the flow of audio data. The data is integer-over-sampled in a SHARC DSP to an incredible 40-bit accuracy before it’s fed to the Burr-Brown DAC.

The NDX 2 features an integrated low-noise power supply with a custom-designed toroidal transformer and separate windings for the digital and analogue sections. However, the player can be upgraded with an external XPS DR or 555 PS DR power supply, giving you a marked increase in sonic authority and emotion.

During the development of the NDX 2, our engineers examined every detail, from mechanical construction, component selection and board layout. The result is a network player worthy of the Naim badge, with a sound that’s rich, detailed and engaging.

Naim 555 PS DR Technology & Craft

The 555 PS DR benefits from both our decades of experience and our relentless pursuit of superior sound quality. Its massive transformer, some 40 percent larger than that fitted to our XPS2 DR power supply, features five separate windings outputting to seven regulated supply voltages, including an output specifically intended for use with the clock circuitry of our CD555 and ND555.

The 555 PS DR was updated in 2012 as a result of a two year project to develop a new discrete regulator (DR) for Naim Audio power supplies. The new Naim Audio DR now features, alongside improvements to the wire routing, mechanical decoupling and internal layout. These enhancements, developed through intensive listening tests, significantly raise performance and make music even more .

The Ear reviews Naim Audio's NAP 250 DR power amplifier -

http://www.the-ear.net/review-hardware/naim-nap-250-dr-power-amplifier

"This is easily the best sounding Naim amplifier I have reviewed, and one of the best power amps I’ve reviewed period. It has transparency, pace and bandwidth that caught me by surprise. Having heard what Statement could do I was optimistic but expectations have been well and truly exceeded."

"The NAP 250 DR is that sort of amplifier, one that gets out of the way so that you get carried away by the music, a seemingly simple trick but one that not enough revealing amplifiers can pull off."

"It does a remarkable job of showing you how musicians bounce off one another when they play together, this comes down to speed, there is little in the way of time smear with this amp, notes stop when they should so there is very little overhang."

"If you are looking for a tool that shows you precisely what’s going on in a recording this is one of the best amplifiers for the job, but it still puts the musical message first, analysis may be possible but emotional communication is the essence."

Hi-Fi News reviews Naim Audio's NAP 250 DR power amplifier

"Naim’s Discrete Regulation and bespoke transistor technology from its flagship Statement amplifier combine to revitalise the company’s classic power amp."

"No mistaking the huge toroidal transformer feeding dual, discretely-regulated PSUs for the NAP 250 DR’s voltage and power output stages. Naim’s NA009 transistors are mounted under the central (black) heatsinking."

"Obvious even from a brief listen is the sheer power of the amplifier – and here I’m not talking about the figures on paper, which are easily bettered by plenty of amplifiers selling for less than the Naim, but the way it propels music along, and the impact it can deliver. Not only does the NAP 250 DR prove capable of presenting bass with a satisfying – and often surprising – weight and slam, it also shows just how well-controlled is its low end, with speed and dexterity when a drum-kit and/or electric bass is motoring."

"Similar qualities were very much in evidence with the Kansas City Symphony/Michael Stern recording of Britten’s Young Person’s Guide To The Orchestra [DSD64 from Reference Recordings RR-120SACD]. This is not just a great system-tester due to its encyclopaedic survey of the instruments of the orchestra, but also due to its remarkable dynamics. Listening to the great final fugue building via the Naim is a truly spectacular experience, from the fine detailing in the woodwind right through to the great slams of the full band at the end."

"But it lives up to the promise of its near-16kg fi ghting weight and that massive toroidal transformer dominating the interior view with a sound that can hit hard, play it cool or just captivate with the sheer detail and musicality on offer."

Audio-Esoterica reviews Naim Audio's NAP 250 DR power amplifier

"Several of our dynamics torture tests (featuring well produced drums, powerful orchestral, rock and World Music recordings) showed the DR could just as well stand for ‘Dynamic Range’ when compared with the straight NAP 250."

"Naim does things in a distinctively individual way; from the minimalist styling carried across all its products to the circuitry and proprietary connectivity. There’s a clear statement here: ‘follow us on our path and we’ll take you to the music’. And indeed, with the NAP 250 DR, that’s exactly the destination. Naim Audio NAP 250 DR - Modern yet classic

Few components in the history of hi-fi can match the pedigree of the mighty NAP 250. First introduced in 1975, its regular updates – both aesthetic and technical – have kept it at the very forefront of power amplifier performance for more than three decades, creating unforgettable musical experiences for countless music lovers worldwide.

The latest NAP 250 DR lives up to the challenge set by its predecessors. Housed in the low-resonance, anodised aluminium enclosure of the Classic Series, it delivers 80W per channel (into 8ohms) with all the speed, power and agility needed to unleash your music.

New for 2015 – Statement technology

Our flagship Statement amplification system was ten years in the making. The research and development project drew on all of our knowledge and expertise, yielding several breakthroughs in technology. Now for 2015 we’ve introduced two new technologies from the Statement project to our core range of power amplifiers.

The NAP 250 DR now features the new NA009 transistors first introduced in Statement. In development for over a year, this key component was created in partnership with a specialist semi-conductor manufacturer to achieve the best possible sound quality. The NAP 250 DR also includes the high power Naim DR (Discrete Regulator) technology used in Statement to provide the smooth, stable power supply we know is critical for the audio electronics to make music come to life.

These two new technologies, combined with other small improvements to layout and componentry, mean the NAP 250 DR can produce even more of the fundamental musical pace, rhythm and timing that made the originals so popular with music lovers.

Features

80W per channel output into 8 ohms
Large custom-designed transformer providing 400VA of transient power
Advanced 009 output transistors, as used in our reference NAP 500 and Statement power amplifier

Technology & Craft

Like the flagship NAP 500 DR, and the NAP 300 DR, the NAP 250 DRuses a new circuit design with improved earthing arrangements, built on a very high quality, anti-resonance main audio circuit board. The NAP 250 DR uses the same 009 transistors that were custom-designed for the statement amplification. These outstanding components each provide up to 80 amps and 350 Watts, negating the need to use parallel pairs of transistors (which always have a negative effect on sound). Additional 009 transistors are used in the fully regulated power supply, ensuring the very best performance.

A new top-quality transformer is used providing the ability to deliver more than 15 Amps and swing a massive 400VA on transients. The NAP 250 DR is stable into any load and able to drive a 2-Ohm load for long periods of time.

Pure musicality with our most advanced streaming platform -

Our reference network player is quite simply the best source component we’ve ever developed. Drawing on decades of digital and analogue engineering experience, the ND 555 marries our innovative new streaming platform with classic Naim analogue technology. It features a 40-bit SHARC processor with advanced signal processing, a suspended brass sub-chassis to isolate sound-critical circuits from vibrations and the best external power supply we’ve ever made. Whether you’re listening to Bonham’s solid groove or Coltrane’s dizzying scales, the ND 555 lets the music flow with astonishing ease and uniquely engaging musicality. Partnered with Statement or 500 series amplification, we believe the ND 555 is as close to live music as it gets.

Naim Audio. The best of British.

A rich audio heritage -

The ND 555 is the result of over four decades of audio engineering. From our state-of-the-art streaming module to powerful, natural-sounding audio stages – every element of this network player is built on our design DNA, giving it that distinctive, captivating Naim sound. The ND 555 development process also helped us step foot into new technologies: for the first time, we’ve added low-voltage differential signalling (LVDS) to a premium Naim player. We chose LVDS because it minimises timing errors due to its fast speed and it minimises radiation thanks to its low noise.

Naim Audio's new ND 555 Network Player/555 PS DR Power Supply are at Musicraft (Derby)

The ND 555 is bristling with innovative technology from input to output. The streaming section uses the latest Naim network card featuring low-noise, high-speed LVDS to route the digital audio signal. The higher speed is capable of decoding all HD audio formats at up to 32 bits/384 kHz or DSD128. Rather than the source acting as the digital timing master, our new streaming board turns things around and allows our DAC clock to control the flow of audio data. The data is integer-over-sampled in a SHARC DSP to an incredible 40-bit accuracy and fed into the Burr-Brown® PCM1704, a true R2R ladder DAC valued for its exceptional sound quality.

Naim’s renowned DR regulator technology, as used in our range of amplifiers and power supplies, makes its first appearance in a network player, providing ultra-pure DC voltage to the sensitive audio circuitry in the ND 555. The analogue stages use only high-grade through-hole components and are suspended on sprung sub-chassis with heavy brass plates to minimise the effects of microphony.

Absolute control -

There are several ways to control ND 555. The Naim App for iOS and Android gives you complete control over individual or multiple Naim products. You can access all of your music including radio pre-sets, streaming services and playlists, sync several Naim players for multiroom playback or explore artist discographies and biographies. The app also controls our Uniti Core music server (so there’s no need for two separate apps) and allows you to update your system wirelessly with a single tap.

For those who prefer a more tactile experience, a premium metal Zigbee® remote control is supplied. It requires no line of sight to the player, so you can take control whatever direction you’re facing. The front panel features a 5” colour display presenting album artwork as well as track information in crisp detail, and there are keys for most commonly used functions including standby and input selection.

— Seven regulated supply voltages, including a separate supply for the CD555 clock circuit
— Low-resonance case with isolating feet
— Massive transformer, 40 percent larger than that fitted to the XPS2 DR
— Supplied with Power-Line mains cable as standard
— All-new Naim Discrete Regulator (DR) configuration, delivering Naim Audio’s best-ever standards of stable, low-noise power

These enhancements, developed through intensive listening tests, significantly raise performance and make music even more.

The world's best audio streamer? AV Hub reviews Naim Audio's new Reference ND555 Network Audio Player/555 PS DR Power Supply -

https://www.avhub.com.au/product-reviews/sound-image/naim-nd-555-network-player-review-518147

"Them Crooked Vultures’ New Fang is a blistering track which can similarly wall up on lesser gear; the 555 allowed the Kashmir-like left-channel strings to rise above the rhythmic lock between John Paul Jones and Dave Grohl, while the vocal held solid in its own little bullhorn-Elvis world: this is a 21st century Black Dog, and its energy can simply overload and smear all too easily. Not here. Every piece in the whole was kept utterly clear, simultaneously isolated but connected. We’ve never heard it better."

"We didn’t get to listen quite as long as we’d have liked, but our week with the ND 555 in our system included enough moments of magic that we were entirely convinced by its ability to consistently thrill, by the quality of its conversion, and the extreme efforts at ensuring the results are delivered at the highest, cleanest and lowest-noise levels of performance."

"This is not an audiophile-only device. It requires no effort and just a little familiarity (those remote symbols) to operate. It offers everyman ease of operation backed by sensational audio performance. A triumph."

What Hi-Fi reviews Naim Audio's new NDX 2 network player and optional 555 PS DR power supply -

https://www.whathifi.com/reviews/naim-ndx-2

”There’s a confidence about the Naim’s presentation and a sense of organisation that is rare in streamers, even at this elevated level.”

“The Young Fathers set shows the Naim is capable of punch and power combined with an infectious sense of fun. While this streamer ticks all the boxes when it comes to hi-fi specifics, such as transparency, detail resolution and stereo focus, it never forgets to wrap it all in a blanket of entertainment.”

“That sentiment is emphasised once we start playing CD-quality and hi-res music files from our NAS unit. We get the expected increase in subtlety and expression combined with more fluid dynamics and more emphatic rhythmic drive.”

“It has no problem delivering large-scale symphonies such as Beethoven’s Fifth with the authority and dynamic punch they deserve. At the same time we’re aware of a stable and nicely layered stereo image and a nicely-judged tonal balance that is rounded enough to make even poorer recordings listenable.”

“For most, a stand-alone Naim NDX 2 will be all the streamer they could ever want. It is well made, carefully conceived and sounds excellent for the money. Naim also has a great track record on supporting its products, which really matters when the investment is as heavy as this. In short, buy the NDX 2 with confidence.”

Streamlined connectivity from an exceptionally engaging network player -

NDX%202%20-%20Header%20Product%20shot.jpg

Naim Audio's new NDX 2 network player is at Musicraft (Derby) -

With its world-class performance, the versatile and upgradable NDX 2 embodies the current state of the art. A host of features such as high-res UPnPTM streaming, AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, Bluetooth (aptX HD), Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Roon compatibility, vTuner internet radio and multiroom streaming as well as digital and USB inputs provide all the connectivity you could wish for.

Our main focus in developing the NDX 2 network player, however, was its performance. Along with Naim’s bespoke streaming platform, we implemented an upgraded DAC and discrete analogue stages. These and numerous other improvements over its acclaimed predecessor make the NDX 2 a sonic force to be reckoned with, offering highly immersive and lively replay quality.

Naim Audio's 555 PS DR power supply is at Musicraft (Derby)

Hi-Fi Critic reviews Naim Audio's NDX 2 network player and optional 555 PS DR power supply

These enhancements, developed through intensive listening tests, significantly raise performance and make music even more.

The world's best audio streamer? Hi-Fi critic reviews Naim Audio's new Reference ND555 Network Audio Player/555 PS DR Power Supply -

https://www.naimaudio.com/sites/default/files/Pages from HFCritic53_PRESS trimmed-2 NAIM ND555.pdf

"The ND555 soundstage has an inviting transparency, with subtle natural timbres, fine image perspectives and truly excellent focus. We initially suspected that it might be just too seductive, if such is possible. Certainly it required no thought at all to recognise superbly deep soundstages, massive stage width, and first class three dimensional stereo imaging. Texture was virtually devoid of unwanted grain; sweet yet sparkling; highly detailed yet also convincingly micro-dynamic. Subtle gradations of musical expression were portrayed very well, it played with great authority, and in context possessed fully convincing naturalness."

"I cannot recall a digital player of such build quality and performance where transparency and detail, image depth and stage width is so clearly state of the art, and one which is allied to a highly extended and natural subjective frequency response. It sounds absolutely wide open. The balance of these qualities is hugely music, system, and listener dependant, and here I feel that prospective purchasers will have to judge for themselves the relative importance of all these matters but in our reference system it is clearly state of the art. Our top Audio Excellence rating is well deserved."

AV Hub reviews Naim Audio's new Reference ND555 Network Audio Player/555 PS DR Power Supply

A triumph."

The Ear reviews Naim Audio's NDX 2 network player -

http://www.the-ear.net/review-hardware/naim-ndx-2-network-streamer-dac

"The NDX 2 does PRaT exceptionally well and that’s a big reason for it being so enjoyable, but it is also precise and highly revealing of each recording you listen to.

"The level of transparency available is extraordinary, Hendrix’s ‘Wait Until Tomorrow’ (Axis: Bold as Love, Track) is as fast as you like but perfectly balanced albeit slightly polished in the way that remastering tends to sound, that said I doubt the vinyl has so much low end power. Nils Frahm’s All Melodyfrom last year is a recording that keeps on giving, the Naim delivers what sounds like near mixing desk clarity with superb scale and multiple layers of sound from this gloriously woody sounding release. His earlier live release Spaceshas more powerful pieces of music on it but the sound is relatively rough and this is made very clear here, but this doesn’t get in the way of the musical experience most of the time."

"Compared to other converters the NDX 2 has a powerful, dynamic sound with lots of vitality especially via Super Lumina cables. Then there’s the timing, always a strongpoint with Naim components it’s a key to the this streamer’s appeal, you can have all the detail in the world but if it’s not presented in a coherent manner it ceases to be music. As mentioned this streamer does both timing and high resolution, so images have a 3D solidity and this makes the sense of presence that a good recording can achieve so real that it’s thrilling."

"In its native state with onboard power supply and the supplied Power-Line Lite mains cable this is a fabulous streamer, use it with a very good server and you are guaranteed digital musical entertainment that will keep you enthralled for years. It shows you precisely what’s going on and brings out what’s special about the music, and that’s what you want from a piece of audio electronics."

What Hi-Fi reviews Naim Audio's NDX 2 network player and optional 555 PS DR power supply

Hi-Fi Critic reviews Naim Audio's NDX 2 network player and optional 555 PS DR power supply

The Ear reviews Naim Audio's NAP 300 DR power amplifier -

http://www.the-ear.net/review-hardware/naim-nap-300-dr-power-amplifier

"I used the NAP 300 with a number of loudspeakers over several months and found it to be consistently musical and revealing in equal measure, it has an uncanny ability to get to the parts that other amplifiers fail to find. Delivering the musical details that make each piece come alive in the context of a sense of flow that is in the highest league."

"The fact that the NAP 300 works consistently with a wide range of loudspeakers is a sign that the guys at Salisbury have got it right, in the past there seemed to be a relatively narrow range of speakers that were considered to work with Naim amps but that seems to have changed."

"Add to this the quality of build and long term serviceability that Naim has built its reputation on and the NAP 300 DR is all the amp that anyone really needs."

NAP 300 - The power behind your music

The NAP 300 DR power amplifier incorporates all the advances pioneered by its siblings and adopts the radical two-box configuration of its bigger brother, the NAP 500 DR: one box houses the amplification circuitry, while another – the 300 PS – hosts the power supply components. The NAP 300 DR delivers 90W per channel into 8 ohms and is capable of prolonged output into 2 ohms with no discernible impact on performance. The result is both superior purity of tone and immense power.

Naim Audio Statement technology -

Our flagship Statement amplification system was ten years in the making. The research and development project drew on all of our knowledge and expertise, yielding several breakthroughs in technology. Now for 2015 we’ve introduced two new technologies from the Statement project to our core range of power amplifiers.

The NAP 300 DR now features the new NA009 transistors first introduced in Statement. In development for over a year, this key component was created in partnership with a specialist semi-conductor manufacturer to achieve the best possible sound quality. The NAP 300 DR also includes the high power Naim Audio DR (Discrete Regulator) technology used in Statement to provide the smooth, stable power supply we know is critical for the audio electronics to make music come to life.

These two new technologies, combined with other small improvements to layout and componentry, mean the NAP 300 DR can produce even more of the fundamental musical pace, rhythm and timing that made the originals so popular with music lovers.

Features -

- 90W per channel output into 8 ohms; capable of prolonged output into 2 ohms with no discernible impact on performance
- Two-box configuration (300 PS power supply included) minimises electromagnetic interference
- High-power Naim Audio DR (Discrete Regulator) technology and NA009 output transistors as used in flagship Statement NAP S1 power amplifier

Technology & Craft -

The Naim Audio NAP 300 DR delivers immense power without sacrificing any speed or agility to provide awe-inspiring levels of detail and musicality.

Like the flagship Naim Audio NAP 500 DR, the NAP 300 DR is a stereo two-chassis amplifier, one box containing the audio amplifier and the second housing the power supply. Improved earthing arrangements have resulted in an entirely new circuit topology built on a very high quality, anti-resonance main audio circuit board. The NAP 300 DR uses the same NA009 transistors that were custom-designed for the Statement NAP S1. These outstanding components each provide up to 80 Amps and 350 watts, negating the need to use parallel pairs of transistors (which always has a negative effect on sound). Additional NA009 transistors are used in the fully regulated power supply, ensuring the very best performance.

A variable speed, virtually noiseless cooling fan is mounted on a large internal heat sink providing long-term stability and the ability to swing a massive 500 VA on transients. The NAP 300 DR is stable into any load and able to drive a 2-Ohm load for long periods of time.

Naim Audio ND5 XS 2 Technology & Craft -

The streaming section of the ND5 XS 2 uses the latest Naim network card featuring low-noise, high-speed low-voltage differential signalling (LVDS) to route the digital audio signal. The higher speed is capable of decoding all HD audio formats at up to 32 bits/384 kHz or DSD128. Rather than the source acting as the digital timing master, our new streaming board turns things around and allows our DAC clock to control the flow of audio data. The data is integer-over-sampled in a SHARC DSP to an incredible 40-bit accuracy before it’s fed to the PCM1791A Burr-Brown digital-to analogue converter.

Developing a new streaming platform was one of the biggest projects we have ever taken on. Naim engineers across all disciplines – electronic, industrial, acoustic and mechanical – worked for three years to create a system that could make the most of online services such as TIDAL and Spotify while adding future-proof flexibility through Chromecast built-in. Supporting faster data rates with dual-band Wi-Fi and the latest 802.11ac protocol, this robust platform was designed for the highest performance on every level.

Hi-Fi critic reviews Naim Audio's new Reference ND555 Network Audio Player/555 PS DR Power Supply

AV Hub reviews Naim Audio's new Reference ND555 Network Audio Player/555 PS DR Power Supply

A triumph."

These enhancements, developed through intensive listening tests, significantly raise performance and make music even more.

Stereophile reviews Naim Audio's new ND5 XS 2 Network Player -

https://www.stereophile.com/content/naim-nd5-xs-2-media-player

"Lonesome Tears," from Beck's Sea Changes (provenance unknown, Capitol), came through at 352.8kHz sounding as good and big and compelling as I've ever heard it, with strings as lush as digitized strings can be, and good solidity and depth from the electric bass. "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man," from the Rolling Stones' Out of Our Heads (ABKCO), correctly played as a 24/176.4 AIFF file, with superb momentum, force, and clarity of timing: It left me shaking my head at how well Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman worked together, and at the youthful irreverence of the lyrics."

"Through the Naim, the sense that the musician's touch was bringing a very large instrument to colorful, physically present life was clearer than ever."

"And some of the things I enjoyed about the ND5 XS 2—in particular, its good musical timing and typically meaty sound—are qualities I've long associated with Naim."

"But it's possible that their 46-year commitment to star grounding, impedance-matched connections, heavily regulated power supplies, and other Naim obsessions are, in the aggregate, key to the ND5 XS 2's fine sound and generally commendable ease of use."

"Glowingly recommended."

Not content with second best he decided to design his own amplifiers and loudspeakers, ignoring accepted wisdom and focusing on aspects of performance that made music burst to life. These first designs laid the foundations for a range of iconic and award-winning hi-fi products that would reach well into the next century.

Naim Audio's new SuperNait 3 integrated amplifier is coming soon to Musicraft (Derby)

In the six years since the last NAIT integrated amplifiers were released, our research and development team have worked on a range of amplifier improvements. The result is upgraded power amplifier sections for SUPERNAIT 3, delivering greater pace and intimacy to their musical delivery – whether it's driving a pair of loudspeakers or your favourite pair of headphones.

SUPERNAIT 3 has received significant performance upgrades, including a built-in phono stage, making it a perfect partner for turntables, as well as for streamers, CD players, or any other music source people want to enjoy with the signature Naim sound.

It also includes a Class A preamp output stage which doubles as a headphone amplifier and ceramic heatsink technology that minimises capacitive coupling between the chassis and output transistors for optimum sound quality.

Its inputs are each individually decoupled and hand-wired to minimise noise and interference while internal switching employs ultra-low-noise, constant current sources which are derived directly from the electronic design of the flagship NAC 552 preamplifier.

The SUPERNAIT 3 can be upgraded with our external power supplies, power amplifiers and even cabling upgrades to get the best from all sources.
