Naim 32.5 advice please.

Can I have some advice please. I have a Naim 32.5 which I believe was a conversion from a 32.

The previous owner had a turntable, CD player and tuner. The turntable (LP12) with MM cartridge was connected to Phono 1. The tuner I think was connected to the tuner i/p but I cant remember where the CD was connected.

I need two inputs at the moment for a Rega turntable with MC cartridge connected to Aria phono amp and a Rega CD player.

So my thoughts are that I should take out all the boards except the 321 Gain’s and the 325.

Is there an input preference for connecting my phono stage and CD player. I presume I will need to make up some links for both inputs. I have some bnc/phono adapters so the Aria could go on phono 1 and the CD on phono 2?

Thanks

It looks as if you just need two, line level, inputs. Tuner, Tape 1, and Tape 2 are already line level inputs, so you could use those DIN sockets.
The connectors on the two Phono inputs are more in line with modern systems although I would remove the BNCs and replace them with RCAs. To make these into line level inputs you need to remove the 322 and 323 boards and link a couple of pins on each of those positions. This was covered in a recent thread, see the link below.
You have to retain the 325 and 321 boards. The 324 boards between the 321s and the volume control are buffer boards but not tape buffers. They can be removed, but you’d need to link some of the pins to allow the signal to pass through. Personally, I’d keep them, or replace them with more up to date versions. If you’re not going to use the tape out facility you can remove the other two 324 boards and there’s no need to link them.
