NAD 3130 vol pot

Hello

I have just acquired one of these amps and it seems to be quite good, especially on phono, however it has a slightly dodgy volume/balance pot at the 50% position. It has got a bit quieter through repeated rotating but still has an area of drop out.

This is complicated by being a combined type pot - the question is has anyone ever managed to repair or find a suitable replacement ?

It very unlikely that you can replace it unfortunately, but a good squirt of switch cleaner will probably make it a whole lot better.

I had a similar issue with a 3150 and its probably the same pot.

Had a look on the dreaded internet and it does seem to be a problem with these amps - I shall try some cleaner for now.

If I keep it (I am trying to get rid of stuff rather than adding to the pile !!!) then it might be worthwhile trying to replace each element of the combined pot separately using some of the original parts like the concentric shafts etc. Maybe.
