Nac 72 phono input

Quick bit of help needed with my preamp: I want to try an external phono preamp but still use the phono channel on the Nac 72. So I need to remove the phono boards and put links across two of the four pins. But which two?

If we number the pins 1 to 4 starting at the front end, can anyone tell me which to link?

Thanks,

Andrew

It's more usual to number from the left to the right of the board as you look at the component side so from the rear of the case towards the front (the opposite of your numbering) we have :

  1. signal in
  2. ground (0V)
  3. signal out
  4. +24V

and you need to link pin 1 to pin 3

Or, you could use a din-rca cable and put the phono stage into a line input, in any case pull the phono boards, you'll get a small lift in performance.
