NAC 12 restoration project

Yes, maybe later when full description is posted here,- I am just surprised how much this little recap improved the machine.

Here's the easiest way of trying it out Svein:

Perhaps your relay wasn't operating 100% reliably until you changed that cap, though the cap itself has nothing to do with the audio signal.

I think my relay was definiately on its last legs - it got rather warm too, even after changing the cap and diodes.
 
Thanks! I can use the jumpers I made for the phono cards. I have an old pair of speakers here to test on later.
 
Following my positive results with the relay bypass wires, I decided to hard-wire from the card pin outputs direct to the DIN output.

The eagle-eyed will note I haven't yet installed the earth post or removed the old output wires yet ;)

P.S. If anybody wants to change from the red to a 5mm green LED to better match more modern Naim gear, change the current limiting resistor to 4K7 (1W type). Leaving the original 2K7 in place the green LED is too bright.
