mysqueezebox.com will close in February

CBA with Pi running LMS. Never managed to get LMS to work on the Pi + DAC HAT in my main system.

Looks like a Wiim mini is the most cost effective solution.

Update:
Realised that the Wiim solution doesn't have any way to play local files and it was cheaper to go with an RPi solution. So I bought a 3B+ for £30 and a £10!!!!!! DAC HAT. It's similar to the Allo Allo Boss i.e. runs as a master with the clocks local.

I have had this running in the main system with a linear PS for a day or 2. It is very, very good indeed. I have a feeling that my IQ Audio DAC Pro and RPi will be heading for the garage system.

I'm rather surprised as I've tried Allo stuff (Piano 2.1, which never delivered on its promise of running TI's PurePath software and Kali reclocker, and a Boss) and came away underwhelmed. A HiFiBerry DAC2HD also didn't better the IQ Audio.

Edit: just realised that I’m running a later version of moode on the new dac. I doubt this will make much difference, but who knows until I level the playing field
