My Garrard is up and running

Hi
so my 301 is now back, so SME fitted and I have purchased a Nagaoka MP200 cartridge

I think it looks and sounds absolutely superb

many thanks to the very kind folks at Loricraft for doing such a superb job on the turntable, I am so pleased with the final result. I can wholeheartedly recommend them.

Looks great Neil. I just got a second Garrard (401) and thinking of getting it serviced. If you dont mind me asking, how much does Loricraft charge for servicing a Garrard (not the plinth - just servicing the motor unit)?
 
Thanks, I know they do have a few options for the work on the turntables. I had a full job done on mine which effectively meant replacement of the mechanism as well as ensuring all parts of the turntable worked as they should .....

it is a thing of beauty, it justlooks so good with the SME arm. It is a really fitting tribute to my recently departed Dad. It is giving me lots of pleasure already, quite fantastic, absolutely loving it.

P.S. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the 301 service cost, and the plinth? I have a 301 on its way to me, and am weighing up the servicing options between Loricraft, CTC & Audio Grail.

John, good to hear you have secured another 301. Loricraft aren't cheap, but do good work. It will depend upon how much work is needed to your unit or you want to do. For example, does the chassis need repainting? Give Terry a call and he will give you a ballpark figure to work from. Are you keeping or selling the SP10?

I've been highly impressed with the work (and youtube videos) I've seen from Audio Grail, a true labour of love by the looks of it, though they're so busy they've stopped taking on any new refurbs until at least October. CTC offer a full all-in rebuild/respray service at £500 which seems reasonable. I'll have a think about Loricraft too & may well give him a call.

Yes it's for sale for £800 (in the classifieds here still).
