'The Beloved Vision' is a title that would normally put me off straight away, but fortunately I read a review of this book by Stephen Walsh which was so enthusiastic I decided to try it. (Music In The Romantic Age is the sub-title.) And, so far, I'm glad I did. I suppose Romantic describes the main area of my classical music interest and filling at least some of the gaps in my knowledge was attractive.
Any book which makes you start delving into your library to give old favorites another listen and/or researching previously neglected connections has to be worth reading imho.
