I know that social events are not really a fishie sort of thing but I always post an invite to this, and would be happy to see a fish or few at Settle.

The 5th annual food and music weekend at Settle is on this year, and we have a few spaces left if any pfm members would like to join us. There will be food (lots of), drink (byo), music (all sorts) and (optional) exercise in the beautiful setting of the Yorkshire Dales.

As usual we are based at Hornby Laithe bunkhouse and barn at Stainforth, 2 miles north of Settle. which gives us 2 large rooms for music each seating about 16 on comfy sofas. There’s also a large kitchen / dining room and lots of space outside in a tiered area. Five dorm rooms sleep between 2 and 20 each in bunkbeds, campervans can be parked just outside and there is a field for camping. There will be an optional (and weather-dependent) walk up Whernside from Ribblehead on Saturday, or there is a nice 2 mile stroll down the river to Settle, if you want to see more of the area.

We arrive on Friday Sept 6th afternoon and leave on Sunday Sept 8th (though it will be possible to stay on until Weds 11th if wanted). Cost will be £100 for the weekend, which includes 2 nights accommodation, 2 large dinners, 2 cooked breakfasts and 1 lunch.

Bring a sleeping bag, pillowcase and booze. Contributions of cake, pies etc, music and kit are welcome, as at any bakeoff.

It’s basically a weekend bakeoff away from home – here's a summary of the first one:

Cheers,
Dave

That's a lovely part of the world and one I regularly visit from here in Leeds. In fact next week I have a business meeting in Ingleton. Ooh, it's a tough old life.
