I have a vintage 30 wpc Fisher 500c that I would like to match with more modern speakers. I wonder what sort of luck people have had with similar setups.
Stereophile is very useful as it prints impedance plots for the speakers it reviews and there are masses of reviews online. Basically avoid low and reactive impedances, e.g. dips below 4 Ohms and go for reasonable efficiency, say 88db or more. There are actually quite a few tube-friendly speakers around (Audio Note, Zu, Klipsch, Devore etc).
