Marantz cd6000 ose numbers

john & Jake

Jake was smarter than me
Hi, I have two Marantz cd6000 ose cd players.
One has 3002 written on both the hdam board and the contol board(I think).
The other has 3004 written here.
Does anyone know if there is a difference and whether they are interchangeable.

cheers

Hi, cant tell by audition as the two players are different specs.
Mine Is modded. clock, supply caps, black gates in the signal path. The other standard.
I don't want to swap them until I know I can and unless there was an advantage.

bumpety bump, has anybody any experience with these numbers as I would really like to swap the 3004's into my player but a bit doubtful as to suitability.

If you eyeball them are they any different ? Could you post digital pics ?

Honestly, numbers on a PCB could mean anything. Factory code, batch, date, revision (due to design change or end of life of part).

this thread should probably be in DIY.

Hi Sean,
control boards looks the same, hdam boards are sealed in copper.
Bit the bullet and have just swapped them.
Everything works as it should.
Don't suppose for one moment that things will sound different, just wanted the newer/later numbered boards in my keeper if that's what they are.
Purely asthetic:)
