Marantz 2215b receiver repair recommendation

My 2215b receiver has a fault...

when the tape monitor or loudness buttons are pressed, the unit sometimes loses signal in one or both channels. I figure either the switches are dirty or knackered, or it might point to some component failure in the tape/loudness circuits.

Any advice or recommendations on how/where I can get it looked at?

thanks all

You could try squirting some DeOxit D5 contact cleaner into the switches first to see if that sorts it. Contact oxidation is par for the course with equipment of this age and every vintage hifi enthusiast ought to have a bottle of contact cleaner in their cupboard.

With something of this quality and age it need to be looked at to keep it in good trouble free working order , Lots to go of spec and wear out , like caps transistors etc , And Repairers of this type of equipment are few and far , You wont find one on every high street , So put some effort into getting a good strong box with plenty of room around the unit for loys of packing and send it off is my advice , I have done this several times without any problems , I now keep boxes in stock ;)
