I have Schinkohs at 470R in my Hagerman Piccolo and it is OVERwhelming. I positively wince at the rim shots.

Well, bearing in mind that the difference between Naim's S cards 470 Ohms and their K boards (for the Troika) 560 Ohms - I'm not surprised you found a significant difference. For my own part, I found the difference between 470 and 560 pretty obvious.
