Lid up or down when playing vinyl ?

No hinges so no lid - not that I think it makes any difference, too much of a faff putting it on and off

Technics, lid up. Shutting/opening while the stylus is in the groove just seems to add unnecessary risk.

Not had a lid on a deck since 96/97 when the youngest was aboot 6 yrs old.

Still have the lids and hinges, all gathering dust in a spare room

yeah, no lid. the LP-12 is inside a cabinet so it is protected from pets, etc. gets quite dusty though.

A gentleman should always remove his hat when indoors.

(makes a bigger difference than turntable lid up vs. down, too)

No lid. My tonearm’s too tall for the lid to fit, so no choice. Aesthetically I prefer no lid too.
