Lenco 75th Anniversary

Eugene

Identity crisis...
Apologies if this has been posted already but plenty of "lols" to be had in this fascinating article:
https://www.mirror.co.uk/tech/lenco-ls-55--l-25603592

A couple of highlights - this is the cheap 'n' nasty Crossley clone...
It’s a belt-driven turntable, capable of playing all vinyl sizes from 7’ to 12’ at three different speeds of 33, 45 and 78 RPM, which is nice as it allows you to pick the quality you prefer.

and this the rebadged AT...
The L-3809BK is a direct drive turntable that can play vinyl sizes from 7’ to 12’ at two different speeds of 33 and 45 RPM. It comes with a variable pitch controller and a stroboscope to let you blend tracks together by syncing their speed - if you are using two turntables.

I know, I shouldn't be so sniffy - it's kinda nice to see an article about Lenco in the "normal' media.

At least IAG seem to have stopped the Wharfedale name being used on supermarket tat. Goodmans only survives as a tat branding now. Biggest suprise I had was a DVD player in Debenhams branded Truvox, complete with the swirly font badge!
