John Wilson at the Proms.

Just spent a glorious 90 minutes watching my recording of John Wilson and his orchestra, playing a tribute to Warner Bros. musicals from last Friday, and if you like musicals, catch it on IPlayer while it's still there.
Were it properly recorded to audiophile standard, and well mastered, I'd love it on vinyl. The Blues in the Night, and The Man Who Got Away were very moving. Now, Voyager and The Old Man and the Sea were new to me, but I'll be looking on Discogs for some unexpectedly good music.

I thought it was superb. What a cracking band he puts together for these Proms.

Yes. I believe his first appearance at the Proms, 10 years or so ago, blew everybody away and he’s been a regular fixture since. I didn’t catch that concert, and feel like I may have missed a treat.

This one was also a gem, though, so that’s ok.
