Quite late on New Years Eve my host played part of an album by John Legend. I wasn't exactly completely sober but to my ears it sounded like an updated bit of Stevie Wonder from the golden era (Talking Book/ Innervisions/ SITKOL etc). Is it worth splashing out £9 on the CD or was it the drink marring my judgement?

He doesn't seem to have ever been discussed on this forum, strangely.

Anyways I like him too. He has a live album that's preferable- his type of soul is better taken live, with the studio gloss and Snoop Dog stripped away.

I just ordered the import CD/DVD which has Get Lifted on the first CD and a DVD of "Live at the House of Blues" (also available separately) as the second disk.
