John & Beverley Martyn - Stormbringer.

Just bought a copy from the pfm record shop. It's a beautiful album, but strangely, the only John Martyn album that I really like and one that I never got around to buying back in the day.

There's a certain sonic quality to the piano on those albums and on other Island recordings of the time that I find make it sound quite magical.

Amazing album, probably my favourite John Martyn album.:)

Well not wishing to be pedantic but it's not really a JM album, it's a John & Beverley album and to be honest I find her vocals pretty hard going, I can see why Island wanted JM to be a solo artist after the two joint efforts.
Says I, who owns every single studio album JM ever released.

And I agree Seeker, the piano does sound wonderful.

Yes l know it was a joint album, it is blooming brilliant all the same.:)

It would have been if it had been a JM solo album.
But it's still nowhere near the brilliance of Solid Air, One World or Grace & Danger. JM should have been a star and it's such a shame he hit the self destruct button...
