JBL 1501-AL1 Bass driver

I had the 1500al's in my last project. Cabs were designed by G. Timbers so I couldn't take any credit.

They were miraculous in many ways. I would describe them as sounding like electrostatics with Felix Baumgartner's balls. Not heard anything else like it.

I know, someone beat me to your 1500al's. I've been sobbing ever since.

ME150's are a pretty good second best though.

Thanks. The answer here: "
Alnico was chosen because of its stable operating point.
This material is insensitive to temperature changes and back EMF from the
coil. JBL has overcome the tendency of alnico to demagnetize with high drive
by utilizing a massive shorting ring at the base of the motor assembly."
