Jay's Audio CD transports?

Anyone got one? Can't explain why, but I have a daft notion for the CDT2-Mk3. Please disabuse me of this silly scheme....

 

I've got a MkII. They are very well made, have AES/EBU+BNC+SPDIF+I2S HDMI outputs, and pride of ownership is high. I've had mine for two and a half years and am really happy with it.

 

The Jay Audio CDT2 certainly looks impressive. Pride of ownership is an important factor IMO.

A few years ago when I was a box swapper, I tried a few expensive CDTs and was usually disappointed because I couldn’t hear significant improvements. If it’s an itch, then go for it. Can the CDT2 only be bought direct from the US?

They are far eastern, not American. There is an importer in the UK, Willow Tree Audio, but they charge pretty much £1 per $1. You can import much more cheaply from Vinshine Audio in Singapore who also sell Denafrips DACs. I think they do a VAT+Import Duties price to the UK.

 

I have been looking at these as well. They look good, but I don't need one .......
