I bought a spare space saver for my previous lease car, Skoda Superb. Had a puncture on the A2 but couldn’t budge the nuts. Called the AA and a VW technician turned up in a van with a spare wheel. Was a nice surprise.

With all that electricity on board couldn’t they fit a socket somewhere to allow you to use a power tool to remove the wheel nuts.
(I’ll get my coat too!)

Makes perfect sense, it means you can plug in a mains charger if your battery gets low

Sort of like having a fan on a sailboat to blow the sails...

Standing by the wayside and not being able to change a punctured wheel would decrease the range to zero.
