Jack Barron (Go Fund Me)

Just received the following from someone who knows Jack personally

Hi Tony

I have a little update for you. Jack is beginning his recovery in hospital. Things are slowly moving. It is expected that he will be moved to a specialist unit soon as he requires some chemo.

He is grateful for the help from his PFM friends, and was surprised to hear some of his music tales were enjoyed.

It has been suggested that some of his music-loving friends might put together Spotify playlists for him to listen to. Music is a great healer as we know. Perhaps you could ask for these playlists on PFM?

Sounds like a good idea to me, though I don’t use Spotify so ideally someone else could run with this in a fresh thread in the music room.

PS In A Silent Way by Miles Davis would be my choice, obvs. If I wasn’t feeling very well in a hospital that is exactly the sort of thing I’d want to float in and out to.

That is good news.

I recall Jack reminiscing on his meeting with the Butthole Surfers, (a favourite band of mine as well) and the double live album is an aural experience that may channel some less gentle emotions.
I know when I was in hospital for weeks after I came out of a coma, I didn’t want everything I listened to to be calm or ordered. Sometimes I desired the opposite.

(I don’t do spotify, or any of those playlist things, but happy to contribute if I can)

The fall are the answer to most situations. Something about jack's style makes me think he might appreciate them, but it's all down to his state of mind.

Get well Jack-uh.

An update from the GoFundMe page, and it's not such good news:
'Please hold Jack firmly in your hearts tonight.

We've been informed by the hospital that he has contracted Covid and is “acutely unwell” but currently stable.

It’s “day to day now” - is the verdict from his Doctor, so the next few days will be crucial, especially as his immune system is already seriously compromised.

Can we ask you all to send him your thoughts and prayers and hopefully it will give him the strength to pull through this if he realises we are all thinking on him?'

Come on Jack, you can beat this.
