It's back

More than a bit damn cheeky , 'patenting' all the salient points of an idea that was given away freely for experimenters in a small Bernard Babani book by Vivian Capel in the v.early 80s... (which was based on a different sort of driver, and the stated requirement for a bit of v simple passive LF EQ upstream obvs utterly-missed by this ...BS merchant).

I've a copy of the original book. And I've just re-read the linked patent - the description and drawings are, always-were - a direct rip-off. I remember having that argument with the twit at the time, 15+yrs ago, on another forum - did not end well. (nb - It's def not my idea, I just have a very good memory/vis recall of things looked-at)

I heard the item pictured via link in OP's first post a couple of times, and like Mr Sukebe, at Bristol at least once. Horrendously shit, because the idiot behind that incarnation had/has utterly no clue.

Rear speakers from a 1989 Ford Escort? :D

BTW those cabinets make the high end Tannoys somehow look less awful to me.
I had a audioline cassette radio in my vauxhall viva estate (the wallowing shit i used to call it..sorry ship) the audioline had a blue led ..I loved that player..I now have a pair of interconnects which cost more than that bloody car did new...but I would like to feel again how I felt then about my audioline cassette radio.. oh well..life moves on.

I seem to recall a long time ago we were requested to not have a go at this bloke because he is prone to taking legal action.

The Ebay account is "NickTheEngineer" - following on from Mr Clark's observations above surely "nicktheidea" sounds closer?

Or "Nickyerdosh"

I was all set to press the buy it now button when I read:

"Those who love an auditorium/disco sound suited to pop 'punk/metal'/rock/sixties - recorded 'dry' (without the auditorium's reverberation included) that rely on speakers with rolled-off treble (industry standard), and a kicking distorted or wooly thump from the beats instead of progressive detailed bass, will find what they want missing in SUHTL."

Obviously I don't come into the category of "appreciated best by fine recordings listened to by fine people." Good to know where I stand, direct from the manufacturer as it were, I'm not worthy to appreciate the fine 'durable Formica walls'. The fixed price home demo almost swung it but I would still have to pay full price on the first pair of my large order.

Can't believe I actually spent precious minutes of my live reading such dr*vel. Has it been left up from April 1st?

Someone else is back too. Looks legit.

Until you dig in and see all the templates. This is the modern day equivalent of buying a picture frame and putting it on your mantle with the stock photo still inside.

On the plus side the 'News' page doesn't work, so there isn't any angry, incoherent rambling (yet).

Should have put ;) after the word legit, I suppose, but wanted to leave room for doubt in the litigious twats "mind". Oh well! :D
