iPhotos merge libraries

Hi, my wife has a number of different Macs all with individual iPhoto libraries. I want to consolidate and merge all the libraries into one, put it on a SSD.

I've just looked into merging libraries and consolidation the photos, and it appears its a real pain. Is there a simple way of doing this? Is there some smart software that will do it for me?

Any advice would be great.

If you export all of the libraries (original and edited versions of photos if you have both) and put them in a folder, then if you have any matching filenames in there and your exisiting library (IMG prefix is common) you could use a batch renamer app to change the prefix on each separate batch you want to add.
