HP printer not working with office world ink cartridge

Trying to print some documents but ran out of back ink. I had an Office world cartridge but the printer won't work with this cartridge. Is there a hack or work round for this.
Printer is officejet 6100
or do I just bite the bullet and buy HP cartridge

If the printer is giving an error it might be that the cartridge level sensors are involved.

From memory with my Canon the printer utility app I think needed to be told to ignore low ink warnings and then the printer's error reset button (with red triangle on it) needed holding down for 5 seconds or so.

Can't promise that will help but worth looking into for your HP.

i bit the bullet long ago and just use HP cartridges , get better standards and longer life out of printer
