It's "Jose" (Spanish pr.) and you are right - he is fantastic.
Way back in the 60s iirc, someone had him as a guest on a radio program.
Astoundingly, with Spanish flair he took a couple of standards well known to us by current superstars (eg Beatles & Doors) and made them his, too.
Unforgettable.

This was given a regular playing by my late dad - a real soundtrack to my childhood.

That is a gorgeous album, I inherited it from my late Dad. The version of 'Don't let the sun catch you crying' is quite beautiful.

That’s the album I was listening to the other day. I have it on cd as well as disc. Great album, it just seems to pull me in to the performance
