HMV Pure loyalty club

I normally walk out of HMV disappointed, can't find anything, no staff to help and don't have any rare CDs.

BUT, I was persuaded by the sales guy to spend £3 on their PURE loyalty card.

Has anyone else dabbled? Was it worth it?

Not really the two near me went bust years ago.
When they had there online shop after all the money i and many others spent with them over the years it might of been loyal of them to get a boss that knew WTF he was doing in the first place.

Do you get £3 off a pair of Beats headphones? :)

HMV ceased being relevant to me about 10 years ago. They never had the cd I wanted in stock. Even a moderate test of popular indie group and a large HMV store would result in the key albums not being there.

I used to have a look at the DVD sales but I can get it all sealed online at better prices. The internet has done them and Ive no need to look at their online store. Plenty of other operations with better prices

And if you want classical, jazz, world, or other "specialist" music (their term!) forget it. And those are exactly the types of music I buy.

I used to love the "specialist" sections on HMV (and tower) in London. My local HMV (Milton Keynes) has terrible Jazz & Classical now.

On the plus side, the vinyl section has been constantly expanding over the last two years. Last time I was there, I ended up buying the recent Iron & Wine archive vol 1 and a Rhino (or is it Sundazed?) Otis Redding LP.
