Got any petrol or diesel?

I pondered the E5>E10 change the other evening, all the labels have been changed, but I don’t expect the tanks have been emptied, cleaned and refilled with fresh E10.
Guess we’re on a diluted mix for a few tankers full?

*Brings me to another tin hat theory, do we have stocks of E5 to clear?

I don’t think fuel hangs around very long. It’s all ‘just in time’ even in the remotest areas.

Even if there was such a stockpile, you could turn a litre of E5 into 1.05 litres of E10 by adding 55.5 ml of extra ethanol to the mixture. Refineries make basic fuel stocks, which are turned into saleable product through mixing and additives right before it goes into road tankers.

Sounds like things may have eased slightly round my way. MIL apparently visited the local Morrisons first thing this morning and there was no queue, and my other half passed two stations near the A303 (Sparkford and Wincanton) in which she said it looked like they were busy and with guys directing cars, but no queues.
