Good value port

My favorite guzzling port is Fonseca Bin 27 ......its not too sweet. Should be able to find at around £12

Had a Quinta something from Waitrose a few years ago.... wonderful with bog standard lemonade !

don't forget the pictures

New Year's Eve seems like a good time to try it - I'm going in!

So far so good, the cork came out whole and no musty/wet dog smell. Fingers crossed!

Smells good. Just let it settle for a mo, think I managed to leave the worst of the sediment in the bottle.

that looks fantastic - enjoy :D cheers

I realised I didn't have any port in our cottage so picked up a bottle of Kopke tawny port from a deli in one of the nearby villages. No idea what it's like but at least gives me something to have with at the cheese we've brought with us.

Got a bottle of Cockburn 1963 I probably need to drink soon. Single Quinta Vintage ports are usually really good. They had Taylor or Graham for £25 in my local Co Op

I know nothing about port but just polished off the last bit of a bottle of Graham's 2015; very drinkable stuff, me likey.

should be great now.....

I should think it would be. I was very lucky to be given a bottle of Fonseca '63 for my 60th a few years back. I hung onto it for 2 or 3 years until a "suitable" evening when the kind fellow who bought it stayed over. The 4 of us (3 really, his wife is not a fan of strong stuff) only managed half of it but it was lovely. Saved the rest for another day and it was still fantastic. I looked at the price to buy another, gulp!

Lovely stopper.

I bought a case of Churchill 2000 Vintage Port for short of £400 en primer in 2003.
Excellent value. 1 bottle per year for me.

Recent year's bottles have improved.
I always follow Andrew Jefford on port decanting procedure.

ThisNewYear's cork crumbled..
I expected the worst... but best ever!

Carefully stored vp need not be finished within 4 days.

Happy New Year from eguth.

P.s
LIDL RUBY is v. Good!
