Francis Dreyfus

MUTTY1

Waste of bandwidth
The Dreyfus label, distributed by Sony Music France, cleans up / enhances jazz oldies. A friend has lent me Coleman Hawkins, 'Body and Soul'; a compilation of some of his recordings from the forties
Must admit to being quite taken by it.The reproduction is clean and tactile and has retained the mellow tone of such old recording; presumably the valve gear used.

The only downside is the compilation aspect. Best ofs never work for me as they don't seem 'of a peice' and always give you a maximum of three seconds between songs - hardly time to draw breath.

Anyone have originals and compared these? There appears to be twenty cds so far, all of well-known names.
