For batting down under - love it

I suggest Australia returns the compliment by appointing an equally well qualified ambassador to the UK. I'm sure Shane Warne would be popular and effective.

His wine is nice ( though I’m no connoisseur), maybe he thinks he can increase his market share down under.

Love him do they? Not so sure that is universal. Maybe some of his 'attitudes' towards immigration will go down well there for sure.

Unelected officials?

I see he was knighted in 2007 for services to cricket and charity. But what was he "lorded" for?
