Folk/Acoustic

Not quite sure this fits the thread...
Reminds me a little of my discovery of Apocalyptica at the Turku (classical) Music Festival
 
Márta Sebestyén and Muzsikás -
Márta Sebestyén I think regards her self as another intrument and not a vocalist in the accepted sense as this example shows. Some of her later cds take time to appreciate as the music is elaborate in the extreme and not the traditional Eastern European harmonys at all
Muzsikás is an acoustic band in its own right and puts to shame much so called pop music musician, and hearing a genuine double bass ( I assume it is) in a band rather than electric bass is lovely shock, shows how poor electric bass is really

Another very nice recording not all men the female singer has some delightful haunting songs

Saw Gong Linna at the Kaustinen folk festival ten or more years ago - I've still got the Chinese good luck thing from that concert hanging from my standard lamp.

Just ordered the CD by Perunika Trio - this thread is hurting the purse :)
