Few bass in NAIM ACTIVE SYSTEM with SBL's WHY??

Putting things under electronics is a whole new sea. Personally I can't be bothered and I can't afford a Naim Fraim.

There seems to be no easy way to build one of Naim's sub-shelves yourself either :(

I make this for next to nothing $25 with glass. Works like a charm. Here is one with a carver cube on it. My take on a Fraim ala cheap

Does the glass sit on ball bearings like it does on the Fraim? The bit I cannot find is the bearing cup.

I refuse to buy these:

£16 each

Yes on the glass the felt is used for 2 thing to stop the chatter and to make the thing stay in place. I use 2 cent bugle head washers the plastic kind used for cabinets.

Ultimately the Fraim Ball Bearing Cup is the best but I would need 12. That will never happen. My arrangement works just fine on getting the glass just right. I tried 3 point on the ball and heard ZERO in my design. I fond using white lithium applied slightly on the cup works best.

Try a piece of plywood under your CDP with any old ball bearings sitting in nuts underneath the plywood and resting on top of your existing support stand. This may provide some degree of sound improvement and it's even cheaper than Jack's rack.

If his Ikea is not level will roll off eventually. My shelf is for such a purpose to level the glass perfectly. You have zero worries on this subject Mr Fraim ;)

LOL...OK, forget the ball bearing/nut arrangment and use wood screws (even cheaper;-)

best,

Mr Fraim
