Sorry, but despite the quality of Rod's (very eventual) vocal, the rest of that misses the point. Overlong chord sequence which to these ears has nothing much to do with a proper intro, then a facsimile of the Temps original intro which somehow fails to generate the immediate sense of desolation and forboding the song demands.I'm not up on musical technicality but it seems their 'facsimile' emphasises a minor key whereas the original uses a spiky major.
Put another way they've used the song as a vehicle for the band, rather than the band as vehicle for the song. IYWSIM.
