Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born on the Bayou

Released in early 1969 on the Fantasy label as the B-side to "Proud Mary".
"Born on the Bayou" is one of Creedence Clearwater Revival's finest hours. I love the over-driven Gibson sound of the intro, the Southern blues feel of the track, and John Fogerty's singing which never sounded better to me.

"Wish I was back on the bayou
Rollin' with some cajun queen
Wishin' I were a fast freight train
Just a chooglin' on down to New Orleans"

Beatles: Baby you're a Rich Man. I used to listen to this so much, back when I only had about 5 LPs and random singles scavenged from jumble sales. Just listened to it though the current system (somewhat better than the dansette I had in 1981), what a revelation! Ringo on great form, too.

I've been listening to the Beatles for so long, that my usual reaction to the thought playing them is that I'm so familiar with it all that I'll be bored. They nearly always prove me wrong. Playing It's All Too Much now. Wow....

First time I heard Queen Bitch it was a B-side to an ex-Jukebox single I'd picked up. Blew my mind.

I also remember playing Friday Night / Saturday Morning by The Specials nearly as much as I played Ghost Town.

The Byrds - She Don't Care about Time

Released in October 1965 as the B-side of "Turn! Turn! Turn!". Written by Gene Clark.
The track did not appear on the album "Turn! Turn! Turn!".
One of the early Byrds' finest tracks.

"Her eyes are dark and deep with love, her hair hangs long and fine
She walks with ease and all she sees is never wrong or right
And with her arms around me tight, I see her all in my mind
And she'll always be there, my love don't care about time
She'll always be there, my love don't care about time"

Deep Purple - When A Blind Man Cries (b-side of ‘Never Before’). A classic IMHO.

I also like the Purps ‘Son of Alerik’ (b-side of ‘Perfect Strangers’). A nice jam.

The Selecter -The Selecter (The Special AKA -Gangsters) the start of Two Tone....

The Cure Another Journey By Train (A Forest)

Still got my original copies....

Sam Cooke - A Change Is Gonna Come

Perhaps the greatest B-side ever.
Released in 1964 on RCA Victor as the flipside to "Shake".
Hard to tell if I would prefer Sam Cooke's original or Otis Redding's 1965 cover.

"I go to the movie and I go downtown
Somebody keep tellin' me don't hang around
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will"
