We have for sale an Exogal Comet Plus DAC & Ion Power Amp
These are silver, supplied in their original packaging (some of the inner packing for the Comet is missing – but it will be right for P&P) and are complete in terms of accessories
Each item comes with an external power supply, there are 2 power cables, a remote and an HDMI cable to connect the 2 devices together using Exogal’s proprietary ‘Exonet’ connection.
Both of these devices are up to date in terms of SW
The Comet Plus is a wonderful sounding DAC and as a result it had been an incredibly popular, the Comet Plus offers the following digital inputs….
USB-B x 1
Optical x 1
AES/EBU x 1
BNC x 1
There is also 1 analog input on the Comet Plus (phono stage perhaps!)
If using the Comet Plus with an integrated amp or another preamp it has both RCA and XLR outputs, but as mentioned above when used with the Ion they connect together using Exogal’s own interface, it uses an HDMI cable, but the interface itself is not HDMI and if you attempt to connect it to another HDMI device it will not work and you will likely damage both devices.
The Ion isn’t just a power amplifier, it acts as an PowerDAC in that it is effectively an extension of the Comet Plus’ processing power and the signal remains in the digital domain almost until it reaches the speaker outputs.
The Ion has been designed to only be used with the Comet Plus – it will not work in any other way. As a combination this pairing is superb and they genuinely punch well above their original price points.
Sadly as a result of the pandemic and the subsequent issues with component supply and suchlike Exogal have been the unfortunate victim of a perfect storm of events and they are no longer in business, their products still sound awesome and thankfully they were very reliable as well.

The Comet Plus sold new for £2950 and Ion sold for £3350 when they were new, so £6300 for the pair asking £2799 or closest offer
