    Hi Everybody,

I have decided to sell my Epos ES30 speakers, I've had them for over 10 years and loved every minute, but I've now found something better so these must move on.

They are a very good speaker in my opinion, but need space, good amplification(better biamped), and lots of time spent positioning them. I previously had ES14's and I think overall these are better.

I thought they sounded better biamped, and they can be triamped, but I dont have any link cables to sell with these speakers so you will have to sort something out.

They are in good condition with no major dents or deep scratches, however there are light scratch/indentations on the top, as if a ballpoint pen had been pressed into the surface and a line drawn, only visable though if you look very closely.

There is a reasonably large dent in one of the tweeters metal dome, I am the guilty party for that. I was removing the metal grille cover and didnt realise how strong the tweeter magnet was until too late. However, I honestly cant detect any difference in the treble, though Im in my 50's and like to play it loud so may well be wrong.

Not long after I bought these speakers I bought a complete set of replacement drive units from Lockwood Audio. They have been kept in a warm and dry cupboard for several years and look to be in first class condition.

I intended to replace all the drive units and crossover capacitors, but never got around to it. However, in preparation I did remove the plastic front baffle cover, this therefore will need reglued or doubled sided tape used to reattach it.

Price for this kit is £750ono.

I live in the west of Scotland, not far from Glasgow, I would very much prefer collection, but to be helpful I would be willing drive a reasonable distance to meet up. Uk buyers only please.

If you have any questions, or want more pictures then dont be shy.

    Cheers.

Excellent speakers, mine worked well close to the wall and they sounded even better if raised 6 inches or so on low stands imo!

    Glws.

I had mine backing onto a bay window and found that they worked best when as far away from it as possible, and a good distance from side walls, maybe some sort of reflections from the bay was messing with the acoustic. I never knew about putting them up on stands, might try that at some point if they dont sell, because as you say they are excellent speakers. Thanks.

As said I am willing to travel a fair distance to meet up, eg Gretna or Perth kind of distance.

Nice, wow so rare to see them with spares as well. Getting pretty old now so the spares are a bonus. Good luck selling. I have to 22s love them.

Totally agree, just because something is newer doesnt automatically mean it is better.

Have to agree with that. I'm tempted, but couldn't give 22s the room they needed years ago. My room is a bass amplifier. I've got more leeway with rear space these days but I'm nervous and curious at the same time.

I might be wrong but would it be possible to reduce/control the bass output using a foam bung in the bass port like the ES14's? Also, it has been said above that they work well close to a wall.

And maybe this will tempt you : price reduction to £700.

Raising them a few inches, as previously mentioned, usefully reduces any tendency to bass overload / congestion. It really tidies them up quite nicely.

I'm not usually into the Flat Earth agenda, but these PRaTty speakers were a very satisfying and enjoyable listen.

Interesting that, I wonder if it was because of a disconnection of the speaker from the floor, or something to do with the height of the bass port.

I take it you had a bespoke stands made for them?

Totally agree about them being a very enjoyable listen, when you hit the sweet spot they are holographic to the music.

    No, not bespoke stands.
I tried out the raising concept with baked bean tins, and that worked well.
So I kept an eye on ebay for a couple of weeks and a nicely sized pair of Castle stands came along for about £20!
    Just right. :)

Unfortunately, I live in London and cannot pick up the kit in person. And I'm a big fan, I have es14, es22, es25, es30
However, if someone wants to buy and does not need spare speakers, I will gladly buy them with shipment to London.
They can be used from a loudspeaker or new.

@jandl100 I was imagining some sort of awkward stand arrangement but that looks really good, although I think I would prefer the "ES30 by Heinz". Lol.

Ah I didn’t see these were gone! Just as I was coming back to see if they were still going :)

They havent gone, Ive still got them, decided to keep them alittle longer, although I might be persuaded to part with them(speakers and drive units together) IF you collect them.

I’m in Edinburgh so very possible. We are in midst of house move. Can I reach out when dust settles and if you still have them, I’ll take them.
