ECC81 & 14AT7 valve question

Have posted the full query on the 'Classic' section, but basically I can't find any ref. to the 14 AT7 on Google; supposedly an alternative to ECC 81.

I need to replace my two in my CDP, but am confused as to what to buy.

Do you mean 12AT7 - that is a direct equivalent to the ECC81 - I`ve never heard of a 14AT7.

The 12AT7 = ECC81.

Thanks, chaps. I think the manual of my CDP (Lector - Italian) is up the creek. Certainly it is written entirely in Italenglish and seems to be a manual written for the original model/prototype as it has so many irrelevant and downright confusing references.

I'll take the cover off and see what they put in.
