No it isn't, can take MC cards like any other Naim pre.

Note there's also a grace 707 and I suspect all three once went together.

Interesting, as the one I used to own had MM built onto the main board and no pins to slot cards onto. It was original with no mods.
 
This one might be a bit later, but still very early.

Clearly has NA222 MM cards but the pin spacing appears to be the same as for 3 series cards.

It would make sense for it to have MC as an option since the Grace Arm with Supex MC was all the rage at that time.

Transistors were obviously very expensive at that time since the design uses a lot fewer than than later models, and indeed than the 12 so I presume it must have been their "cheaper" preamp.

The 120 is really very similar to any other Naim power amp and pretty decent even by today's standards.
