Dynavector L300/P300 mk1 vs L200 mk2/P75 mk4

As per the title.

Has anyone done a comparison between the older, higher-end Dynavector pre (with its internal phono stage) and the later, lower ranking model with the latest external phono stage?

Kevin

Haven't heard the mk4 p75 but a P300 sounds massively better than a P75 to me.

Given the choice I'd take the L300/P300 every time.

I am not sure there are that many differences between the various iterations of the L300 but the most recent has the P300 as a balanced stage so that presumably helps with its sonic qualities. I have not compared my L300/P300 with any off-board Dynavector stages so can't comment on that but my guess is that it will have the edge over the L200/P75. Try and get a demo and let us know what you think of the comparison.

Any ideas where I could get a demo to compare these options in the south of England?

Kevin

As understand it, that’s s list of dealers who would sell Dynavector amplifiers if there were any available. Does anyone have any personal, recent experience to say that they have any in stock.

I bought my old Obelisks off a guy in Reading who had a mk1 L300/P300 with HX100 and Ob mk2s, I haven't seen him post here in a few years though.

I appreciate this is an old thread now I have an L200 mk and P75 mk 4 which I adore however a P300 and L300 mk 2 came up for sale and had to go for it.

cost wise

the L200 mk 2 and P75 mk 4 RRP £3450 plus their are both mega cute and the sound to me having owned a NAC82 and 2 hi caps and preferred the rewired version of pre to power sounded great especially with the HX1.2 mk2 just not as good as the DV by any stretch.

the L300 mk 2 plus internal P300 £6500 plus

I’m hoping to hear quite some improvement.

I think you will. I've not done direct comparisons but have owned or listened at length to all the above. Let us know - always good to see Dynavector threads, although fairly rare they are a lot more common than the actual amps.

The L300 mk 2 is as superb so much better head room than my l200 however mine is several years old and p75 mk 4 only a few it was a hard choice and decided to stick with where I am for now.

Id certainly says obelisk mk1 cirr 2004 have a dam lot to give so maybe even a pair of GS57 MK2s in mono
