When my Linn Aktiv Crossover decided to go Pear shaped sending all the High Frequency signals to the Left Hand Brik and all of the Low Frequency signal to the Right Hand Brik, I contacted Witch Hat Audio to see if they could help, Mark advised me that although the do not normally specialise in Linn products they would have a look at it for me to see what they could do, they arranged for their courier to collect the boxed up Aktiv and Direkt power supply and off it went.
I had already arranged to take my LP12 & Aro up to Simon at the Audiofiles.co.uk to be serviced and set up again as it's been over 4 years since it was last looked at. So Simon who is probably the best Linn service person in the entire south of England but does not court his well deserved publicity for what he achieves.
Well I collected the deck after Simon had done his stuff, and this afternoon my Aktiv crossover arrived by Witch Hat Audio's courier all repaired and ready to go. So I carefully returned everything to it's correct place and fired it all up, well I'm now once again ecstatic the Deck/Aro are singing again as they should, and the Aktiv crossover is sending the correct signals to my Briks.
The cost of the repair to the Aktiv was just slightly more than it would have cost me to have arranged my own courier. Both the Lads at Witch Hat and Simon at the Audiofiles seem to be more interested in providing a brilliant service rather than making the money they could do out of what they all achieve.
So my Thanks to all of them for a brilliant job done. So if anyone needs a repair or service to their equipment I can again Very Highly Recommend both Witch Hat Audio, and Simon at the Audiofiles .co.uk for a superb job done at a very, very, reasonable cost.
