DIY Tonearm Rewire Wire (!)

Hello everyone,

Just wondered if any of you can help me out...

I'm very interested in rewiring my Rega RB250 by myself, and I need some help in obtaining the wire to do so. I plan to use a continous run from cartridge to amp with no unnecessary solder joints. I'm not bothered if it's copper, silver plated copper, or pure silver wire, but preferably with PTFE inulation. I'm not sure about the diameter of the wire, so if anyone is, can you give me some ideas as to what i should be looking for? I have access to all the heat-shrink tubing I could ever wish for at work, so I can 'sleeve' the wire myself too.

Cheers!:D

I was planning to do something similar to my Zeta, but I couldn't figure how to get the bloody socket out of the armbase - I decided to give up before wrecking the arm rather than just after... Anyway, I did figure out where to buy some wire from, try: www.percyaudio.com - they do Cardas tonearm wire by the metre. While you are there the Cardas cart clips are great, way better than the normal type that don't seem to cope with different sized pins.

Tony.
