DIY Hicap w Mr Tibbs earthing mod?

Excellent work David!!

Holy.. that transformer IS a Beast!

I am very happy that everything is working well or even better than expected :p

And of course, and most importantly, there's the pride every time I lose myself in a music listening session of looking at my hifi, and specifically the power supply, and thinking "I made that"!!!

Priceless! :D

It IS a GOOD feeling isnt it! ;)
As for a next Project,

HackerNap?
http://www.pinkfishmedia.net/forum/showthread.php?t=112736

I think that the GB is still going, Carl(Hacker) is on holiday at the moment so it hasnt been updated in a little while.
I have put in for a few more boards as I want to build 6 mono or 3 stereo amps

The Nap90.3`s do sound good, maybe a little top heavy at times so Im looking to keep the PRaT but with a little more `grown up` sound!

Best regards
Justin

6 mono's??!! One per driver in a pair of 3-ways?

Actually, now you mention it, I used to have a pair of old Naim mono-blocs years ago - 135s I think - and I wouldn't mind going back to mono-blocs. Damn you PFM folk, you give me ideas!!! I always thought that a full powered amp driving just a tweeter was a bit overkill though...

Justin, what's "PRaT"?

And what's a full build of a HackerNap going to cost me (ballpark)??

Best
David

PS - just checked out the GB post - what are the CAP boards for, and how many do you need per NAP (assuming they're somehow related...)?

*edit* - ah, found the link to the manual and build notes - two CAPs per NAP! ;0)
