The Grado Sonata 2 was innocent, the tonearm cable has pleaded guilty

The problem was not the cartridge at all but the DIN to phono external tonearm cable.

The Sonata 2 is running in as i write.

Already great bass and dynamics, the treble should come on song after a couple of dozen LPs.

That's a bummer Nige........ But I bet the AT lasts you longer anyway. Why not get your old Grado rebuilt with a better cantilever and stylus so you can enjoy it down the line?
