Dark Was the Night - Red Hot Organisation

This looks like a great album, if not album of the year 2009. Put together by The National (my current favorite band). Great line-up, with a lot of names I recognise, but haven't heard yet. Looking forward to this.

Dark Was the Night features new songs, rarities and unlikely collaborations from US indie aristocracy's finest.

Unreleased songs by Arcade Fire, Sufjan Stevens and Belle and Sebastian's Stuart Murdoch are among those promised on Dark Was the Night, a forthcoming charity compilation.

The 32-track anthology was curated by the National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner and will be available from February 16. Fans will be able to purchase the set as double CD, triple LP or download, with all proceeds going to the Red Hot Organisation, an AIDS charity.
