1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

Councils and email

    My local council has no problem dealing with email.

    I see the usual knee jerk 'All councils are crap' comments sneaking in.

    It's all very predictable.

    I think it varies wildly. In my current experience Kings Lynn Borough and Norfolk County Council all use emails well and respond quickly to/with them. Theya re also pretty good at getting things done.

    Lambeth and Southwark Councils in London may as well not bother as they rarely respond to emails, but then again they rarely answer the phone either unless you call a 'pay my council tax' line. Mind you having to speak to up themselves Londoners when they do would probably put me off ;)
