Contents Insurance on Holiday Home

Hi all
We have a seaside flat that we regularly use, and want to sort contents insurance for it. Clearly we spend more time at home than there, so we’re aware that could raise the premium, so...
Have any of you good folk any recommendations you can make, from personal experience, or is it all much of a muchness?
Thanks for any help
Mick

Normal contents insurance doesn't allow you to leave it unattended for more than a month. What they mean by unattended may vary, they generally mean "slept in for a night" but you might be able to get by with a cleaner giving it a check to confirm that there are no unattended leaks etc.

We tend to be there two or three weekends out of four, although that was somewhat thrown during lockdown, obviously, so in ‘normal’ times, we’re there fairly frequently.

presumably you have buildings insurance ? will the providor do a discount if you add contents ?
Buildings insurance is paid for as part of the service charge. I don’t think the opportunity is there to use the same company. Good setup in general though - seventeen flats in the block, and each flat owner owns a 999 year lease on his/her own flat, and also a seventeenth of the freehold.
May ask a neighbour or two as well...
